Toronto Marlies News Release

The 2004 edition of the School Lunch Association's "Lunch with the Leafs" is set for Sunday, February 22nd at St. John's City Hall, Foran Room. The lunch will start 1:00pm and include St. John's Maple Leafs players, Buddy the Puffin and MC for the event, Leafs play-by-play broadcaster Brian Rogers.

The School Lunch Association is a non-profit, registered charity that provides approximately 1700 nutritious hot lunches to primary and elementary children in 12 schools throughout the Avalon East School District everyday. The largest program of its kind in Atlantic Canada, it ensures children's self-esteem is never injured by allowing parents to decide whether to make full payment ($2.50/meal), partial payment or no payment in an anonymous and non-stigmatizing manner. The meals are offered regardless of a family's ability to pay.

St. John's Maple Leafs captain Aaron Gavey knows how important it is to have a healthy meal. "My teammates and I feel privileged and honored to be asked to assist with the School Lunch Association's annual Lunch with the Leafs. It is great to give back to such a worthwhile cause and at the same time have some fun with the kids".

Tickets are just $10.00 and parking will be available at City Hall. Tickets can be purchased at the School Lunch Association head office at MacPherson Elementary School and at LeafWear in Mile One Stadium.

St. John's Maple Leafs Season Tickets, Molson 3-6-20 Game Packs, Pepsi Family Packs, Aliant Group Sales and single game tickets are currently on sale and may be purchased by visiting or calling the Mile One Stadium box office (709) 576-7657, 1-800-361-4595 or online at www.sjmapleleafs.ca. Box office hours are Monday thru Saturday, 9am – 5pm and Sunday 12noon - 5pm.
