
IceCats add Two Defensemen

WORCESTER, MA â St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau today announced that defenseman Christian Laflamme has been assigned to the IceCats. In addition, the IceCats have signed defenseman Brian Fahey to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).
Laflamme has appeared in 16 games with the Blues this season, recording one goal and 20 penalty minutes: 16(0/1/1)20. Last season, he registered nine assists and 45 penalty minutes in 47 games with St. Louis. Beginning in 2001-02, Laflamme has played in 75 games for the IceCats over parts of three seasons. His Worcester totals reflect two goals, 23 assists and 25 penalty minutes: 75(2/23/25)25. The St. Charles, Quebec native was originally Chicago's second round selection, 45th overall in the 1995 Entry Draft.
The 22-year old Fahey was signed to a Professional Tryout Contract on Monday and has yet to appear in a game for the IceCats. The 6-1 defenseman recently skated with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL. In 39 games with Atlantic City, the rookie from Glenview, Illinois notched six goals, 17 assists and 32 penalty minutes: 39(6/17/23)32.
The IceCats return to Worcester's Centrum Centre for a 7:05 face off with the Manchester Monarchs tomorrow night.
