
Lumberkings win two on Saturday

Clinton LumberKings News Release
The LumberKings held off Kane County in the suspended game from Friday night to win 6-3. The LumberKings lead 6-1 when play was called last night due to the power outage of the Alliant Energy Field lights. Play was resumed Saturday afternoon. Kevin Altman (5-2) started the suspended game and pitched four innings of one run ball to pick up the win in relief.
In the regularly scheduled game Saturday afternoon, the LumberKings' shut out the Kane County offense. Eric Hurley (6-2) pitched six shut out innings allowing three hits. Reliever Mike Padgett picked up his third save of the year pitching a scoreless seventh inning. Brandon Cashman led off the Clinton first by doubling and eventually came around to score on a Tug Hulett groundout. In the LumberKings' third, Hulett led off with a walk and scored on an Adam Fox sacrifice fly.
The LumberKings look to sweep the Cougars out of Clinton tomorrow afternoon with the game starting at 2:00 pm.
Coming Up
The LumberKings will take on the Wisconsin TimberRattlers starting Monday and lasting through Wednesday. As of the end of play Saturday night, the LumberKings and TimberRattlers were tied for the Western Division lead with records of 35-27.
