Clinton LumberKings News Release

The L-Kings dropped a slugfest as Ace Walker (2.69) struggled through his worst start of the year, allowing ten runs, six earned, on nine hits and a pair of walks in four innings of work.

Brandon Cashman (.253 / .328 / .440) led the way for the Clinton offense with two dingers in a 5-7 outing. Jim Fasano (.308 / .374 / .451) homered and walked in a 2-6 effort to drive in two runs and the streaking Emerson Frostad (.282 / .360 / .472) added his fifth home run of the year in a 2-4 outing to drive in a pair of runs. Adam Fox (.269 / .338 / .435) went 3-6 with a double, driving in two runs as well.

Chris Jaile (3.13) took the ball from Walker in the fifth, allowing two runs on five hits and a pair of walks while fanning five over the next four innings. Matt Farnum inherited a ninth inning, bases-loaded jam after Roberto Perez opened the inning with three straight walks and Farnum promptly set the next three hitters down in order. In the tenth, however, he surrendered a run on two hits.

Mike Padgett (1-3; 2.51) held the Lugnuts scoreless through the next two, but was stuck with the loss when Lansing pushed the winning run across in the bottom of the 13th.
