Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays are proud to present a post-game christian concert for fans who come to the June 12 game at C.O. Brown Stadium. Game time is 2:05 p.m. against the West Michigan Whitecaps.
Disciples Peak -- a christian punk band from Battle Creek -- was begun by lead singer Brandon Shephard and drummer Kevin Smith three years ago. The band also consists of Cory Kinne (guitar) and Daniel Chapin (bass guitar).
Disciples Peak has played with many other bands including Kids in the Way, Staple and Second Hand.
"I am very excited for this opportunity to play for the many people that haven't heard us before," said Shepard.
The band's website, www.disciplespeak.com, features bios of each member of the band as well as a bit of history about the foursome. There are also lyrics for some of their songs on this site.
"We are always looking for great opportunities to show case what the ballpark can do in addition to baseball games." Devil Rays General Manager Martie Cordaro said. "We're excited for these talented young men to perform for fans who may not regularly come to C.O. Brown Stadium."
Tickets to see the game and the subsequent concert are still available. Special group rates are available for businesses, organizations and church groups. Call 269-660-2287 or visit the team's Web site at southwestmichigandevilrays.com.
