
LumberKings Announce Pitch, Hit & Run Sponsored by Aquafina

Clinton LumberKings News Release
The Clinton LumberKings are pleased to announce that they will once again host the Aquafina Pitch / Hit & Run. The event will be held Saturday, May 9th at Alliant Energy Field. Kids aged 7-10 will start at 10:00 AM, and ages 11-14 will start at Noon. Registration for each session will begin a half an hour before each session. Participants are encouraged to show up early for your scheduled session.
Pitch, Hit & Run is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball. The grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills.
Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2009 MLB All Star game.
The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition.
