MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Nate Lowe's walk-off three-run home run sent Riverwalk Stadium into a frenzy as the Biscuits' (39-36) beat the Birmingham Barons (35-38), 8-7, in ten innings Monday night. In addition to Lowe's round-tripper, Montgomery right fielder Ryan Boldt hit a home run for a second straight game, torching Birmingham for three hits, including his seventh home run of the season.

Chicago White Sox's number four prospect Dylan Cease was peppered in his Double-A debut. The 22-year old surrendered a first-inning home run to Boldt, who was the second batter he faced, before allowing a second score on a sacrifice fly from David Rodriguez the next inning.

Ahead 2-0, Boldt spurred another Biscuits' charge, leading off the third with a double. First baseman Nate Lowe drove in the outfielder on an RBI-single.

Despite Cease's struggles, the Barons' bats lifted the right-hander. Birmingham finally solved Montgomery starter Brandon Lawson, who had kept the White Sox's affiliate scoreless through three innings.

A walk to Luis Alexander Basabe to start the fourth doomed Lawson. As winds gusted from right-to-left, the right-hander's control deteriorated. Lawson proceeded to issue a two-out base on balls to Danny Mendick, putting two runners on for Jameson Fisher. Fisher did not squander the opportunity, sneaking an infield single by Lawson, which cut the deficit to 3-1.

Although Lawson retired Matt Rose on a pop out, ending the fourth, the right-hander was barraged in the fifth. Following a single by former Biscuit Ryan Brett and another walk, this time to Joel Booker, Basabe roped a two-run triple into center field to knot the score at 3-3.

Fortunately, Montgomery had a response in its half. Boldt continued to terrorize Cease, starting the sixth with another double. Tampa Bay Rays' number 11 prospect Nick Solak also reached base with a walk. While Cease did record the first two outs, he was relieved by Brian Clark. Clark could not escape the threat unscathed, allowing Montgomery's Dalton Kelly to loop a two-run single.

As Biscuits' manager Brady Williams turned to his bullpen ahead 5-3, his relievers preserved the lead until the ninth. One out away from victory, Montgomery closer Cody Hall gave up a two-run double to Booker, which tied the game for the second time.

Birmingham, with new life, capitalized against Biscuits' reliever Dalton Moats (1-2) in the tenth. Mendick, with a runner starting the inning aboard, tied a 19-year old Barons' team record, hitting his tenth home run as a true shortstop.

In his home state, former Alabama Crimson Tide Matt Foster (0-1) had a nightmare of a performance. After inducing a groundout of Boldt, Solak singled, placing runners on the corners with one out for Lowe. Lowe, as a part of his second consecutive multi-hit game, blasted a deep fly ball into the Alabama sky, landing over the left-field fence for Montgomery's first walk-off win of the season.

The Biscuits conclude a six-game homestand against the Birmingham Barons Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. on Southern Fried Southern League at Riverwalk Stadium. The Biscuits will start an opener, who will be followed by Sam McWilliams (2-3), as Birmingham looks to Matt Tomshaw (2-4) to clinch a series victory.
