June 6, 2008 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Great Lakes Loons News Release

Rain has forced the postponement of the Loons' scheduled doubleheader Friday against the West Michigan Whitecaps. As a result, the Loons and ‘Caps will play seven-inning doubleheaders on both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 6:05pm. Sunday's games begin at 3:05pm.

Fans holding tickets to the postponed June 6 game can exchange their tickets for tickets of equal or lesser value to any game in the 2008 season, based on availability. Tickets must be exchanged at the Dow Diamond ticket office at 825 East Main Street in Midland.

Tickets for Saturday or Sunday's games are good for both games of the doubleheader on that particular day.

Saturday is Lucky Hot Dog Night, presented by Chemical Bank with a pre- and post-game concert, presented by Bud Light. Sunday features a pre-game Youth Baseball Clinic and post-game Kids Run the Bases, presented by Farm Bureau Insurance.

On Saturday, right-hander Given Kutz (Game 1) and left-hander Thomas Melgarejo (Game 2) will start on the mound for the Loons. On Sunday, the Loons are scheduled to start left-hander Victor Garate (Game 1) and right-hander Daigoro Rondon (Game 2).

The Loons, in conjunction with the Los Angeles Dodgers, also announced that infielder Juan Rivera has been traded to the Kansas City Royals' organization. Infielder Parker Dalton has been activated from the disabled list and will be on the Loons' active roster beginning with Saturday's doubleheader.
