GRAND CHUTE, WI - Blake Ochoa's bases-loaded single in the bottom of the eleventh inning drove in the winning run to give the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers a 6-5 win over the Quad Cities River Bandits Friday night on Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Gavin Dickey had three hits and scored three runs to pace the Wisconsin offense and lead the way to a fifth straight win.

The Rattlers (27-30) scored four times in the fourth inning -- three times after the second out of the inning. Ron Garth drove in the first run of the game with a slow grounder with Juan Diaz on third base. River Bandit third baseman Domnit Bolivar came home with the throw and Diaz beat it for a 1-0 lead. One out later, the Rattlers went on a hitting binge.

Dickey doubled to drive in Garth. Denny Almonte followed with a single and Dickey scored. Then, Calvin Beamon tripled to left-center and Almonte raced across home plate for a 4-0 lead.

Quad Cities (30-29) answered with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning off Rattler starter Edward Paredes. Tommy Pham doubled in the first run. He scored on a single by Pete Kozma and an error on the play by Almonte.

But, Paredes settled down and pitched a scoreless sixth inning before turning the game over to the Rattler bullpen. The lefty allowed those two runs on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts and left the game with a 4-2 lead.

Walter Suriel, the first of five Wisconsin relief pitchers, struck out the side as he worked around a two-out walk in the seventh. Keith Meyer got the first out of the top of the eighth. Then, things got dicey.

Matthew Arburr singled and Nick Peoples walked. Bolivar got ahead in the count and got a hold of a 1-0 pitch from Meyer for a no doubt, three-run homer to left and a 5-4 River Bandit lead.

Quad Cities reliever Nick Additon, who came on in the bottom of the fifth inning, kept the Timber Rattlers off the scoreboard through his four innings of work. The River Bandit pitcher extended his scoreless innings streak to 26 consecutive innings. But, the Rattlers rallied in the ninth.

Pete Parise got the first out of the bottom of the ninth. Then, Dickey singled, Almonte drew a walk, and a passed ball moved the runners into scoring position. Beamon was walked intentionally to load the bases. Parise got the second out by striking out pinch hitter Scott Robinson. Parise appeared to end the game with a strikeout of Maximo Mendez, but strike three got by the catcher and all the way to the backstop. Dickey scored the tying run.

In the bottom of the eleventh, the Rattlers followed a similar pattern for the winning run. Dickey singled for his third hit of the game to start the inning against Matt Spade, the fourth River Bandit pitcher. Almonte followed with a double to send Dickey around to third. Beamon was again walked intentionally to load the bases.

Blake Ochoa worked the count to 3-2 before grounding a single through the drawn-in infield to left. Dickey scored easily and the Rattlers had their fifth consecutive win.

Justin Souza struck out the side in the top of the ninth for the win. Six Timber Rattler pitchers combined to strike out 18 River Bandit batters.

Game three of the series is set for Saturday night. Nathan Adcock (1-4, 3.41) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Chuckie Fick (1-2, 1.93) is the scheduled starter for the River Bandits. Game time is 6:35pm.
