
Cates and Van Mil Hit National Spotlight

Chris Cates and Loek Van Mil have been making quite a splash in the national spotlight recently. The two have been in local publications around the Beloit area, www.mlnsportszone.com and even appeared in the most recent issue of Sports Illustrated. Now the duo is gearing up for their biggest coverage yet.
ESPN's popular morning show "First Take" will be here to talk with Cates and Van Mil this Monday morning. ESPN First Take is on the air from 9:00am to 11:00am central time and then again from 11:00am to 1:00pm central on ESPN2.
ESPN First Take, formerly called "Cold Pizza," is hosted by Jay Crawford and Dana Jacobson, along with Skip Bayless and other sports guests from around the world. The show follows ESPN2's broadcast of Mike and Mike in the Morning.
In 46 games this year, Chris Cates is hitting .237 with 16 RBI's. The 5'3 infielder has a .316 on-base percentage along with 10 runs scored this season.
Selected in the 38th round of the 2007 First-Year Player draft by the Twins, Cates is originally from Brandon, Florida. Chris attended the University of Louisville where he was named Third-Team All-Big East while also leading his team in batting average (.332) and runs (47) as a junior.
So far this season, Loek Van Mil is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA. The 7'1 right-handed pitcher also has 31 strikeouts in 27 innings pitched.
Signed as a non-drafted free agent on July 7, 2005, Loek is originally from Oss, Noord-Branbt, Netherlands. Coming into this season, Van Mil had a career minor league record of 3-4 with a 3.08 ERA.
