Great Lakes Loons News Release
FT. WAYNE, IN - Today's game between the Great Lakes Loons and Ft. Wayne Wizards has been suspended by rain.
The Wizards led the game 1-0 in the bottom half of the fourth inning when rain forced a second rain delay and the eventual decision to suspend play. Both teams will pick up from the point of suspension prior to the two teams' regularly scheduled game September 1 in Midland.
The Wizards scored the lone run in the game on a sacrifice fly by Cedric Hunter. David Pfeiffer started for the Loons and pitched three innings. The game was preceded by a one hour, 17 minute rain delay. The two teams played a doubleheader Wednesday after Tuesday's scheduled game was rained out and postponed.
The Loons return to action Friday night at Dow Diamond in the first of a four-game series against the Lansing Lugnuts. Game time is 7:05pm. Left-hander Clayton Kershaw (7-2) will take the mound for the Loons against righty Zach Dials. Tickets are available by calling 989-837-BALL or by visiting Loons.com.
