
Silver Hawks Start July 4th Celebrations Early

SOUTH BEND, IN - The South Bend Silver Hawks will start the Fourth of July celebrations early with two games on Thursday, June 28. Heavy rains and unfit field conditions suspended play on Wednesday night. The suspended game will resume at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday and gates will open at 5:30 p.m. The regularly scheduled game will follow and will be seven innings. It is Thirsty Thursday with $2 draft beers and soft drinks sponsored by WRBR The Bear. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as it is Silver Hawks Logo Baseball Hat Night sponsored by NAPA Autocare and WRBR The Bear. The first 1,500 fans age 16 and over will receive a free Silver Hawks baseball hat.
The Silver Hawks will face the West Michigan Whitecaps Friday through Monday. Each game will start at 7:30 and conclude with a spectacular fireworks display sponsored by 1st Source Bank.
On Saturday, June 30, the Silver Hawks will honor the Post 50 Championship team in a pre-game ceremony. Sunday, July 1 is also Culture at the Cove sponsored by WVPE. The gates will open early at 5:30 p.m. with pre-game musical entertainment from singer-songwriter Riely O'Connor and special guest Molly Moon. A variety of local artists will display their talents along the concourse.
The series concludes on Monday (note: Monday, July 2 is not a Dollar Monday) and fans will have a chance to win a 2007 Ford Mustang sponsored by B100, Atlas Oil and Harold Ziegler Ford. Fans age 18 and over will receive a Scratch to Win card as they enter the stadium and the 2007 Ford Mustang will be on display prior to the game.
