U.S. Bank Family Sundays Come To JOD
June 28, 2007 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
U.S. Bank Family Sundays are coming to John O'Donnell Stadium thanks to a brand new two-year partnership between the Swing of the Quad Cities and U.S. Bank!
Every Sunday for the remainder of the 2007 season, and beginning again in 2008, the Swing and U.S. Bank will bring a fun, family atmosphere to John O'Donnell Stadium.
"The Swing are very excited to work with all the good folks at U.S. Bank," said General Manager Ben Burke. "People like Ken Koupal, Lance Heuer, and Todd Rahe have been a pleasure to work with, and we look forward to continuing the tradition of Sundays providing a great outlet for family entertainment at the ballpark."
As a part of this new weekly promotion, one child will have the chance each Sunday to do the play-by-play live from the radio booth for one inning as the U.S. Bank Junior Broadcaster. The lucky winner will receive three complimentary tickets to the game, and join Swing broadcaster Ben Chiswick in the booth for the fourth inning. They will also receive a CD copy of their live appearance calling all the action for a professional baseball team! Kids can enter for their chance to win at any area U.S. Bank location.
During the game, clowns and face painters will be on hand to entertain kids, along with the usual suspects - Swing mascots Clyde, Rookie, and Brady. And the fun doesn't stop when the last out is made. After the game, kids can go onto the field and run the bases just like the professionals!
TICKETS: Tickets for all events at John O'Donnell Stadium can be purchased by calling the Swing of the Quad Cities ticket office at (563) 328-2000, coming to the box office located at the stadium along South Gaines Street, or by logging on to www.swingbaseball.com.
UP NEXT: Quad Cities' seven-game road trip continues with a three-game set in Clinton, leading up to a six-game home stand starting Friday. The Swing return to Davenport on Friday night to kickoff a six-game homestand. All Swing games feature a radio broadcast that can be heard on WKBF AM-1270 or online at www.swingbaseball.com, with the pre-game show starting 15 minutes prior to scheduled first pitch. NEXT HOMESTAND: The Swing will be back at John O'Donnell Stadium for a six-game homestand beginning on Friday, June 29, as the Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest comes to town at 4:00 p.m. and concludes with post-game fireworks and a sleepover on Girl Scout Night!!! Saturday's ballgame will feature a baseball cap giveaway for the first 800 fans courtesy of the Quad City Times. The first day of July will be a US Bank Family Sunday, followed by a Kids Eat Free Monday. And the Swing will celebrate Independence Day with style, featuring the Red, White, and Boom fireworks extravaganza on July 3 and another spectacular fireworks display on July 4.
