December 12, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, CA. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the Boston Bruins, have announced that they have acquired three of the 400,000 PS3 consoles made available in the United States. All three 60 gigabyte (the good ones) PS3 consoles will be raffled off (for free) during the Ice Dogs game on Saturday, December 16, 2006 vs. the Stockton Thunder at 7pm. Fans presenting their game tickets at the turnstiles of the Long Beach Arena on December 16, 2006 will be given a raffle ticket to fill out. All raffle tickets that are filled out completely will be placed into a bin and a member of the Long Beach Fire Department will choose the three winners during intermission. Three lucky Ice Dog fans will get the hottest Christmas present this year.

From New York to Los Angeles, customers waited night and day outside electronic stores for a slim chance to get their hands on Sony's new PlayStation 3 after Thanksgiving. The PS3 frenzy led to sell outs in minutes and prices on EBay have sky rocketed into the thousands of dollars with one PS3 going to a buyer for an unbelievable $15,100. The PS3 craze, which caused chaos and stampedes in some stores, has carried over into the political arena as Senator John Edwards was accused of contacting Wal-Mart in an effort to obtain the scarce PS3.

The Long Beach Fire Department will be in attendance to collect toys for the LBFD's Spark of Love program. Every fan who brings a new unwrapped toy to the game will receive a free ticket to either the January 3, 2007 Ice Dogs game against the Victoria Salmon Kings or the January 7, 2007 game against the Las Vegas Wranglers.

The game on December 16th is also 70's night as fans will receive an Afro Wig upon entry to the Long Beach Arena. Other events planned for this big night include a Disco Dance Off and a possible Golden Sombrero Jackpot of $11,000!!!

The Ice Dogs, fresh off a seven game road trip, return home to play the Victoria Salmon Kings on Friday, December 15th at 7:30pm on "Fishing Night." Fans in attendance will receive an Ice Dogs Fishing Tackle and will enjoy the $2 beer garden and $2 hot dogs. AUDIO portion of all games will be available on www.icedogs.com by click on the TEAMLINE logo and VIDEO will be available at all home games for $6. Season tickets and group sales for the 2006-07 season are still on sale now. Call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
