Inferno Release Lucas Drake

COLUMBIA, S.C. (December 12, 2006) -Head Coach Troy Mann announced that the Columbia Inferno has released left winger Lucas Drake, effective immediately.

The 5'10, 185 lbs. forward requested to leave the Columbia Inferno due to "personal family issues". Drake had played in all 22 games this season, scoring seven goals and nine assists for 16 points.

"We certainly hate to lose a player of Lucas's caliber, but we put a great deal of emphasis on family with our players," stated Coach Mann. "We respect Lucas's request and desire to be with his family at this time and wish him well."

The Columbia Inferno have a packed weekend ahead as they take on the South Carolina Stingrays on Friday, December 15th at 7:05pm, the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Saturday, December 16th at 7:05pm and the Florida Everblades on Sunday, December 17th at 5:05pm.
