Cyclones Drop Bomb on Dayton, 3-0, Tuesday Night

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati Cyclones rookie goaltender Cedrick Desjardins turned aside 30 shots in a 3-0 win over the Dayton Bombers on Tuesday night. The win put the Cyclones back at the .500 mark at 10-10-1.

Following a scoreless first period, the Cyclones opened the scoring when rookie forward Torry Gajda fired in his eighth goal of the season at 3:01 of the middle frame. Gajda broke a four-game goal scoring draught with the tally. Jean-Michel Daoust and Cory Urquhart picked up the assists.

Rookie Mathieu Aubin scored his first goal as a Cyclone in the first minute of the third period and Jean-Michel Daoust netted his sixth tally of the season midway through the third frame to ice the game for Cincinnati.

Rookie goaltender Cedrick Desjardins was solid in goal for Cincinnati, turning aside 30 shots in picking up his sixth win of the season. Desjardins leads the ECHL in shutouts with three.

The Cyclones improve to 10-10-1, fifth in the North Division-four points out of first place. Cincinnati plays host to Johnstown on Thursday (Dec. 14) and Friday (Dec. 15)-both games are at 7:30pm at U.S. Bank Arena. The game will be broadcast on the team's website www.cycloneshockey.com. Dayton is now 9-6-1 and sits in fifth place in the North Division.
