Liz, Lineup Cruise Past Syracuse

INDIANAPOLIS -- Starter Radhames Liz retired 12 of 14 batters, Brent Morel homered for the fourth time in seven games and the Indianapolis Indians (44-31) defeated the Syracuse Chiefs (26-49) 9-1 on Friday night at Victory Field.

Indianapolis scored six of its nine runs in the opening frame before Morel went deep with a solo homer in the second inning. Steve Lombardozzi also chipped in three hits and scored a pair of runs.

Liz, making his first start since July 28, 2014, cruised with six strikeouts, a lone single and a hit batter. He gave way to Brad Lincoln (4-0), who earned the win with no earned runs (one run) over two innings of work.
