Today's Game

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the first game of a three-game series at PNC Field (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons won 7-2 last night, salvaging one game of a three game series from the IronPigs. Following this weekend's series, the Herd will head back home for a five-game homestand starting on Monday against the Gwinnett Braves.

vs. the RailRiders

The Bisons were swept by the RailRiders in three games at Coca-Cola Field, June 8-10, being outscored by a 14-4 margin. The Herd has gone 4-4 on the road against the RailRiders in each of the past three seasons. Overall, Buffalo was 9-7 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2014.

Jeff Francis

LHP JEFF FRANCIS three a Bisons' season-high eight shutout innings last Sunday in Syracuse, allowing just three hits while striking out seven in a no-decision. Francis has allowed just one run over his last three starts (18.0 IP, 0.50 ERA) and is now 2-0 with a 2.06 ERA in 2015.

MattVP

INF MATT HAGUE leads the IL in average (.347), hits (94), on-base pct. (.429), and slugging pct. (.472). He is tied for second in total bases (128), and ranks 2nd in doubles (19), and 3rd in RBI (45). Hague also leads the Bisons with 28 multi-hit games as well as 10 multi-RBI games.

Roster Move

Prior to yesterday's game, RHP GREG BURKE was promoted from Double-A New Hampshire. The righty was 2-1 with a 2.08 ERA in 26 relief appearances with the Fisher Cats this seasons. To make room for this move, OF RYAN SCHIMPF was sent to Double-A New Hampshire.

Alex Hassan

OF ALEX HASSAN hit his first home run as a Bison yesterday. The outfielder has now averaged .500 (7-14) with five RBI, two doubles and a home run in his last four games.

Bisons Bits

OF BRAD GLENN collected five RBI yesterday tying him for this year's team high with OF CHRIS DICKERSON and INF MATT HAGUE...In his Bisons debut, RHP GREG BURKE earned a win while pitching two scoreless innings of relief. The Bisons are a league-best 25-4 (.862) when scoring first in games.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (39-35) enjoyed an off day last night. In their last 10 games Toronto is 5-5 and currently sits just two games back of the Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the AL East division. The Blue Jays begin a seven-game homestand tonight against the Texas Rangers (7:07 p.m.).
