Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will open a three-game set with the Louisville Bats on Friday night at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. The IronPigs enter play at 29-46 on the year after taking two of three from Buffalo earlier this week. Louisville comes into the series with a record of 36-38 after splitting a four-game set with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
RHP Chad Billingsley (2-2, 5.47) will make a rehab start for the Pigs on Friday. Billingsley was dealt the loss on Sunday vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after he allowed seven runs (five earned) on seven hits while walking two and fanning three in 2.2 IP. The right-hander has fanned 19 batters over 24.2 IP with the IronPigs so far this season.
RHP Matt Buschmann (1-0, 2.57) gets the ball for Louisville in the series opener. The St. Louis native earned the win in his Bats debut on Sunday at Rochester when he gave up two runs on eight hits to go along with a walk and six strikeouts over seven innings of work. Buschmann is a combined 7-5, 3.78 in 14 GS between Durham and Louisville in 2015 and will be making his third start of the year against the Pigs. Thus far in his two previous starts against Lehigh Valley, the right-hander is 2-0 with a 3.55 ERA.
There will be a Friday Night Fireworks display presented by Coors Light following the game.
