Rochester Red Wings News Release
ROCHESTER, NY - Due to tomorrow's anticipated inclement weather the Batman night promotion originally scheduled for Saturday, June 27 will be rescheduled for Friday, August 28. Saturday night's 7:05 pm game is still on as scheduled including postgame fireworks courtesy of ESL Federal Credit Union and a cap giveaway to the first 2000 fans courtesy of Segar and Sciortino, Attorneys at Law.
The Batman night elements that will be rescheduled include:
-An appearance by Julie Newmar, who starred as "Catwoman" in the Batman TV series. "I want to make sure that the fan experience is as nice as possible when I come to Rochester. Given the gloomy forecast I felt it was best to reschedule so that I have a chance to visit with more fans on what hopefully will be a beautiful evening on August 27. I look forward to meeting many of the great fans of Rochester," said Ms Newmar. Julie Newmar's appearance will be made possible by Wesley Gardens Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Services, 96.5 WCMF, News10NBC and MeTV Rochester.
-An appearance by the Batmobile. The Batmobile is unable to get wet so rescheduling will insure fans an opportunity to see the Batmobile up close and get a photo of it.
-Commemorative Batman jersey auction to benefit the Seneca Park Zoo Society. The Red Wings players and coaches will wear special Batman themed jerseys on Thursday, August 27 and fans will have the opportunity to bid on their favorite player's game worn, autographed jerseys throughout the game with proceeds benefitting the Seneca Park Zoo Society.
-Postgame fireworks set to the music of the Batman movies.
Fans who have tickets for Saturday, June 27 will be able to use them on that night as well as any other 2015 home game including the rescheduled Batman night promotion on August 27. After the game on June 27 simply redeem that ticket for a ticket of equal value for any other 2015 Red Wings home game at the Red Wings ticket office. On non-game days the ticket office is open 9am-5pm Monday through Friday and 10am-2pm on Saturdays. On game days the ticket office is open Monday-Friday, 9am through the end of the fifth inning and Saturdays and Sundays 10am through the end of the fifth inning.
"While we never like to postpone any promotion based on the forecast, we didn't want the weather to put a damper on this extremely unique event for our fans. It's very rare that we are afforded the chance to reschedule a celebrity appearance but in this case Ms. Newmar was in favor of changing the date. We felt the best way to make it most enjoyable for the most amount of fans was to reschedule for what we hope will be a much nicer night. In the meantime we will do our best to get tomorrow's game in with our cap giveaway and postgame fireworks," said Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason.
