
Limited Seats Left For Saturday's Game

PEORIA, Ill. (March 5, 2010) - Peoria Rivermen COO Josh Morin announced today that Saturday's game between the Rivermen and the Lake Erie Monsters has less than 200 tickets remaining. The game, which features free food for everyone in attendance, has an expected crowd of close to 10,000 fans.

The Rivermen all-time attendance record is 9,427 set on March 4, 1995. The capacity of the arena in 1995 was 9,114 while today it is 9,919. The largest crowd the Rivermen have had since joining the American Hockey League (prior to the 2005-06 season) is 8,161 which was set during the final home game of the regular season last year (April 11, 2009).
Every fan in attendance on Saturday will receive two free hot dogs, a bag of Kitchen Cooked chips, a 12 oz. Coke product and a Hostess Twinkie. Each fan will receive one voucher for free food when they enter the arena that can be redeemed at any concession stand.
The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with the Rivermen Legends game as 14 former players from the ECHL and IHL days will take on a team of local firefighters. This season marks the 10th anniversary of the Rivermen Kelly Cup Championship.
The first 2,500 fans will also receive a Rivermen team poster courtesy of the Peoria Air National Guard.
After Saturday, the Rivermen will be on the road for seven games before returning home on Sunday, March 21. It will be a Comcast/Journal Star/Fun on the Run/Coke Family Day.
