On Thursday, Pascal Pelletier's goal with 4:19 left in regulation lifted Peoria to a 4-3 win over Grand Rapids... In Wednesday's action, Kyle Turris posted three points (1-2-3) and a shootout goal to help San Antonio edge Houston, 4-3... J.T. Wyman tallied his first career hat trick as Hamilton dropped Adirondack, 4-1... Martin St. Pierre had three points (1-2-3) as Binghamton ended an eight-game winless skid with a 4-1 win at Lowell... Rockford notched a shorthanded goal and two power-play strikes en route to a 3-2 victory over Lake Erie.

Western Conference division leaders collide in Steeltown on Friday when Chicago (39-18-1-4, 83 points) visits Hamilton (40-14-3-5, 88 points)... Former Bulldogs coach Don Lever brings his Wolves into town boasting a 21-2-1-2 record in their last 26 games, but Hamilton has captured all three prior clashes between the teams this season... Wolves forward Brett Sterling leads the AHL with 34 goals (34-22-56) in 55 games, while Jason Krog is tied for fourth with 62 points (12-50-62) in 60 contests... Spencer Machacek is riding a three-game scoring streak (2-2-4) for Chicago... Hamilton's David Desharnais has registered a point in 18 of his last 19 AHL games (6-22-28)... P.K. Subban has a team-high five points (1-4-5) vs. Chicago this year and leads AHL rookie defensemen with 44 points (13-31-44) in 59 games overall... The Bulldogs and Wolves each rank among the AHL's top five teams in both offense and defense.
Two points back of Albany for second place in the East Division, Norfolk hosts the River Rats for a two-game set this weekend... The Admirals, who dropped a 4-2 decision in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, have not lost consecutive games since Jan. 15-16... Rookie Dana Tyrell has a point in four of his last five games (2-3-5) and shows 3-9-12 in his last 11 outings for Norfolk... Blair Jones has tallied a goal in two of his last three games after going his previous 24 contests without scoring... Albany, which is in a stretch of playing eight of nine on the road, is 3-1-0-0 in its last four games... Jerome Samson is coming off a four-point (1-3-4) effort on Tuesday vs. Binghamton and boasts an eight-game scoring streak (7-6-13) for the River Rats... Albany rookie Chris Terry has a point in four straight tilts (3-3-6) on the heels of a five-game scoring drought.
Manchester visits Providence on Friday in the teams' eighth match-up of the season... The Monarchs have shut out the Bruins in four straight meetings and have not surrendered a goal in their last 240:48 of action against Providence... Overall, five of Manchester's 10 shutouts this season have come at the Bruins' expense... Monarchs goaltender Jonathan Bernier (25-16-5) leads the AHL in save percentage (.939) and shutouts (8) while ranking third in goals-against average (2.03)... Rookie Dwight King has an assist in three straight games for Manchester... The Bruins are currently tied for the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot... Providence's Jordan Knackstedt has seven points (3-4-7) in his last five contests, and goaltender Kevin Regan is 5-1-0 (2.09,.928) in his last six decisions.
