
P-Bruins Fall To Monarchs 2-1

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Manchester Monarchs 2-1 Friday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got their lone goal from Jordan Knackstedt. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Amica Lip Balm Night against the Lowell Devils.
The Monarchs took a 1-0 advantage at the 6:21 mark of the opening period. Dwight King netted his seventh goal of the season, while Kevin Westgarth recorded the lone assist. Manchester led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
After a scoreless second period, Providence tied the game at one at the 1:10 mark of the third period. John Lammers took a shot from the right point and the puck landed on the stick of Hamill. He put a shot on net and the rebound went to Knackstedt, who tallied his tenth goal of the season. Manchester answered back with a goal at the 1:44 mark. David Meckler scored his 11th goal of the season, while Corey Elkins picked up the lone assist. The Monarchs went onto the 2-1 victory.
Kevin Regan stopped 29 of 31 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jonathan Bernier made 31 saves for the Monarchs. The P-Bruins were 0-for-2 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.
Providence heads back on the road Saturday to face the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:00 p.m. at the Arena at Harbor Yard. The P-Bruins wrap up the week at home at The Dunk Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Amica Lip Balm Night against the Devils.
