Lightning Defenseman Brendan Mikkelson Reassigned To Syracuse

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman Brendan Mikkelson to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Mikkelson, 25, has skated in four games with the Lightning this season, recording an assist and a plus-one rating. The Regina, Saskatchewan native appeared in seven games with the Crunch earlier this season during a conditioning stint, posting an assist to go along with a plus-four rating. Mikkelson has played in 190 career games in the AHL with the Abbotsford Heat, Toronto Marlies, Iowa Chops, Portland Pirates and Crunch, recording 18 goals and 47 assists.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound defenseman was originally acquired from the Calgary Flames in exchange for forward Blair Jones on January 6, 2012.
