Coyotes Sign Samuelsson to Entry-Level Contract

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed 2012 first round draft choice forward Henrik Samuelsson of the Edmonton Oil Kings (Western Hockey League) to a three-year entry-level contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Samuelsson has posted 32-47-79 in 67 games with the Oil Kings this season. He currently ranks third on the team in goals and points.

The 19-year-old native of Scottsdale, Arizona finished the 2011-12 season with Edmonton, recording 7-16-23 in 28 games with the Oil Kings after recording 0-2-2 in 15 games with Modo Hockey Ornskoldsvik (Swedish Elite League).

Samuelsson was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (27th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
