
Anaheim Ducks Acquire Center Kyle Wilson from Tampa Bay

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have acquired center Kyle Wilson from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for right wing Dan Sexton.
Wilson, 28 (12/15/84), has appeared in 22 contests with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season, earning 5-05 points with six penalty minutes (PIM). A native of Oakville, Ontario, Wilson is a veteran of 411 career AHL contests, scoring 146-164310 points with 141 PIM. He had a career year in 2007-08 when he scored 30-3161 points in 2007-08 with the Hersey Bears. The 6-2, 200-pound center won consecutive Calder Cup championship titles while with Hershey in both 2008-09 and 2009-10, having earned 17-2744 points in 70 career Calder Cup Playoff contests. Wilson has advanced to the Calder Cup Final on three occasions (2007, 2009 & 2010).
Selected by Minnesota in the ninth round (272nd overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Wilson was most recently acquired by Tampa Bay with Anders Lindback and a seventh-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from Nashville in exchange for Sebastian Caron, two second-round selections in the 2012 Entry Draft, as well as a third-round selection in the 2013 Draft on June 15, 2012. Wilson made his NHL debut with Washington in 2009-10, earning two assists in his first game on Dec. 15, 2009 at Colorado. In 39 career NHL games, Wilson has earned 4-913 points with 12 PIM.
Sexton, 25 (4/29/87), has appeared in 27 regular season contests with Norfolk (AHL) this season, earning 5-1116 points with six PIM. Signed as a free agent by Anaheim on Apr. 7, 2009, Sexton has appeared in 88 career NHL contests, earning 13-1932 points with 20 PIM. A native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Sexton has also played in 128 career AHL contests, notching 32-5688 points with 34 PIM.
