Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
In a battle of teams tied for fourth place in the North, the IronPigs (38-50) play the finale of a three-game set -- and Game 3 of a six-game, home-and-home series -- against the Pawtucket Red Sox (38-50) at Coca-Cola Park... With an historical* 9-8, walk-off^ win in 11 innings last night, the Pigs have won nine of their last 11 games and 13 of their last 18 affairs against North Division opponents. In fact, Lehigh Valley is 17-9 in the last 26 contests after dropping 15 of 18 games from May 24 to June 11... The Paw Sox -- Boston's top affiliate -- have dropped a season-high, 10 consecutive games, their longest losing streak since a 10-game skid in 2009 (Aug. 12-20). In addition, the Sox are just 6-20 since June 16 and 20-40 since reaching their high-water mark of 18-10 on May 7... The Pigs and Sox hadn't played since the opening series of 2015, when Pawtucket took three-of-four at Coca-Cola Park from April 9-12.
RHP Aaron Nola (3-0, 2.28) will start for LHV against RHP Keith Couch (3-8, 5.66).
