Texas Legends News Release
HIDALGO, TX - The Texas Legends rallied back from a 20-point deficit in the fourth quarter but fell short in their efforts to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 122-131 Saturday night.
The Vipers took over early, grabbing their ultimate lead four minutes into the game. Jamil Wilson pounded out 10 points in the first, but the Legends were outrebounded 17-6 and outscored 41-31 behind 14 points from RGV's Chris Walker. Tu Holloway led the Legends' efforts in the second as Texas fought from behind, but the Vipers' hot shooting continued as they finished the half at 54% leading 74-61.
The deficit continued to grow in the third as the Vipers took their largest lead of the night up 27. Texas went on a 10-0 run but found themselves down by 19 going into the final quarter. Brandon Ashley was a force to be reckoned with in the fourth, powering out 13 points in 8 minutes as the Legends fought to the finish.
