Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce (22-5) fell to the Westchester Knicks (17-12) in the second game of a back-to-back series at the Pentagon on Saturday night. The 110-100 loss put an end to an 11-game home winning streak by the Skyforce, the longest since they won 13 straight in the 1996-97 season.

With a 22-5 record through their first 27 games, Sioux Falls is now tied with the 2007-08 Idaho Stampede for the best start in NBA Development League history.

The Knicks jumped out to an early 29-20 lead at the end of the first quarter, and Sioux Falls was never able to battle all the way back, losing for the first time this season when scoring 100 or more points.

Westchester relied heavily on the production of Jimmer Fredette, who tied his season high in points with 37, making five of his eight three-point attempts. Fredette scored a combined 73 points in the two-game series in Sioux Falls.

Gani Lawal (14 points, 14 rebounds) came off the bench to record Westchester's only double-double in the game and Travis Trice II added 17 points in the win for the Knicks.

Byron Mullens (20 points, 11 rebounds) recorded his fourth straight double-double and is averaging 14.0 points and 12.8 rebounds over the last four contests. Bubu Palo added 24 points and has now scored in double figures in eight straight games for Sioux Falls since being inserted into the starting lineup.

Briante Weber (16 points, six assists, four rebounds, three steals) tallied season highs in both points and assists in his first start of his career for the Skyforce while Tre Kelley (five points, six assists) failed to record double digit points for just the second time in 27 games played this season.

The Skyforce will stay in Sioux Falls to take on the Canton Charge (14-13) next Wednesday, February 3. The Knicks will return home and await their game against the Skyforce next Friday, February 5.
