BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Jam (11-19) defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (12-17) 123-108 Friday night at the Dignity Health Event Center. The Jam were led by Xavier Silas (31 points, 5 assists) and Terrico White (27 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists).

Xavier Munford paced the Jam in the opening period as he put up 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, and helped the Jam take a 26-25 lead after one quarter of the play. The second quarter alone saw a total of seven lead changes and five ties, making it an entertaining back-and-forth contest. Silas scored 10 points in the second period, but the Jam went into the half trailing 54-51.

Bakersfield and Santa Cruz caught fire in the third frame as both teams shot above 70.0 percent from the field. Down a point with the quarter almost finishing, Kyle Casey knocked down a three-pointer as time expired to give the Jam an 89-87 lead heading into the final period. From that point, the Jam never looked back as they put together a strong fourth quarter and outscored the Warriors 34-21.

The Jam converted 18-of-28 from beyond the arc, marking season-highs in 3FGs made and 3PT percentage (64.3).

Munford (21 points, 10 assists) and Derek Cooke Jr. (14 points, 11 rebounds) each recorded a double-double for Bakersfield. Casey tallied 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds.

Elliot Williams led Santa Cruz with 31 points and seven assists, while Darington Hobson and Golden State Warriors assignee Kevon Looney had 18 points apiece.

The Jam will next play on Tuesday, February 2 against the Oklahoma City Blue. Tip-off is set at 7:00 p.m. PT.
