
Charge Finish Strong January with Victory in Iowa

The Canton Charge (14-13), presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, held off the Iowa Energy (12-15), 87-83, in Des Moines on Saturday night. The win gives Canton a 9-2 record to finish the month of January, including 7-1 on the road.
Canton's John Holland scored a season-high 31 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 6-of-6 from the foul line, in 33 minutes. Quinn Cook scored 17 points, grabbed five rebounds, and grabbed a season-high four steals in 35 minutes. Nick Minnerath added 13 points off the bench, while Jon Horford scored nine points and had 11 rebounds in 29 minutes.
Minnerath's putback off an offensive rebound with 2.6 seconds left gave Canton the victory after they led for the entire second half. The game's only lead change came when trailing 24-18 to start the second, the Charge hit 13-of-20 from the field (65%) and outscored Iowa 33-19 to go into intermission. Both teams surrendered nine turnovers and each shot below 40% from the field in the second half.
Andrew Harrison led all scorers with 24 points for Iowa. Alex Stepheson posted a double-double of 17 points and 21 rebounds in 37 minutes.
Canton stays in Central Division play with a visit to the League-leading Sioux Falls Skyforce (Miami Heat affiliate) on Wednesday, February 3rd at 7:30 p.m. The Charge return home to the Civic Center on Tuesday, February 9th at 7:00 p.m. against the Grand Rapids Drive (Detroit Pistons affiliate).
