Legends Lose Pence, Game

Lexington Legends News Release

The Hagerstown Suns rallied to defeat the Lexington Legends 10-9 on Monday night. The Suns came from behind twice to keep their playoff hopes alive. Lexington still leads Hagerstown by two games with five to play.

The Suns overcame a power surge by the Legends. Mitch Einertson led the way with a grand slam. Ole Sheldon smacked a two run home run and Lou Santangelo connected with a solo shot.

The Legends lost more than a game. Hunter Pence suffered a strained quadriceps in the first inning. Pence was placed on the disabled along with Beau Torbert (sore Achilles) after the game. Outfielder Luke Barganier and infielder Drew Sutton will join the Legends active roster.

Barganier will come to Lexington from extended spring training. Last season Barganier hit .230 for Tri-City. Sutton comes to Lexington via Salem. Sutton hit .237 in 38 games for the Avalanche.

The Legends will wrap up their four game set with Hagerstown on Tuesday night. Troy Patton will face Gaby Hernandez. First Pitch is set for 7:05.
