Kannapolis, NC – The Intimidators swatted three home runs and bombed the Catfish 12-3 in front of 1,118 people at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium Monday night. The I's offensive numbers were not season highs, but they were the best since K-town's 17 run, 23 hit, 5 homer afternoon at bam box Asheville on April 17th.

RHP Jack Egbert earned his fifth win of the year (5-3) with six innings of five hit, one run (unearned) ball. Columbus starter Brandon Weeden took his fifth loss of the year allowing nine runs in three innings on seven hits. Jeff Little and John Hurd combined to close out the final three frames.

Ryan McCarthy got the homer party started with a two run shot to left in the bottom of the first. Kannapolis scored two more runs on an RBI single by Francisco Hernandez. The I's put five runs on the board in the fifth including a solo shot by Clint King and a three run homer by Sean Smith. The I's centerfielder was the BC Powder Intimidators Player of the Game going 4-5 with three runs scored and three RBI.

Kannapolis and Columbus meet tomorrow morning at 11:05 am in the Intimidators only "camp day" of the season. The Intimidators expect upwards of 1000 kids at the stadium tomorrow morning. Kannapolis will go for the split with RHP Adam Russell (3-4 3.72) against LHP Scott Elbert (2-2 2.58).
