The Lexington Legends scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to break a 6-6 tie and then held off a Hickory threat in the bottom of the ninth to win 8-7.

With one out in the Legends' ninth, Telvin Nash drew a walk. Jhonny Medrano ran for Nash, and Medrano scored when Ben Heath delivered a double to right center field. Heath went to third on an infield out and scored on a single by Tyler Burnett.

In the bottom of the ninth, Hickory had scored a run and had the bases loaded with one out, but Lexington reliever Jorge DeLeon struck out Alejandro Selen and Kellin Deglan to end the game.

The Legends led 5-0 in the middle of the fourth inning, but the Crawdads rallied to tie it at 6-6 in the bottom of the seventh on a solo home run by Teodoro Martinez. Jake Skole and Selen had homered earlier for Hickory. Burnett hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for Lexington.
