Legends End 2011 with Win Against 66ers

December 30, 2011 - NBA G League (G League)
Texas Legends News Release

Frisco, TX - The Tulsa 66ers fought valiantly in order to shrink the Legends 22 point lead down to 7, but Tulsa ran out of gas as Texas prevails 96-87.

Chris Roberts paced the Legends with 19 points, but it was a total team effort as Texas had five players score in double-digits. On the flip side, Tulsa was more of a one man show with Marcus Lewis providing 12 points and pulling down an astronomical 25 rebounds, including 10 offensive boards.

Tulsa struggled from the field and the free throw line shooting 37.5% and 56.4% respectively. The Legends were strong from beyond the arc, connecting on 50.0% from outside making eight of 16 attempts.

The second quarter was abysmal for the 66ers as Texas outscored Tulsa 26-11. The game changing moment came on back to back steals and dunks by Chris Roberts and Ramon Dyer on consecutive possessions as the Legends pulled ahead.

Dominique Johnson had an efficient 17 points on nine shots from the field, sinking three from long range and all four of his free throw attempts.

Texas (5-9) and Tulsa (7-6) will battle again on January 5th, as both teams enjoy some time off after each playing in back to backs.
