
Legends Defeat Captains 5-1

Lake County Captains News Release
(Lexington, KY)--The Lexington Legends hit three home runs Thursday, and cruised to a 5-1 win over the Lake County Captains at Applebee's Park.
Lexington's Drew Sutton smacked a solo homer in the bottom of the first off Reid Santos (3-4). Mitch Einertson added an RBI single in the second to make it 2-0. Then in the bottom of the sixth, Santos walked lead-off hitter Ole Sheldon and then surrendered back-to-back homers to Bryan Triplett and Frankie Caraballo to make it 5-0.
Lexington starte Evan Englebrook (6-1) held the Captains scoreless over five innings, allowing just three hits and striking out seven.
The Captains (2-5, 42-35) snapped a 17-inning scoreless streak in the seventh when Brian Finegan slapped an RBI single off reliever Raymar Diaz.
The Captains have lost a season-high five games in a row, and have dropped eight of nine games at Applebee's Park this season.
Lefty Ryan Knippschild made his Captains debut in the sixth, retiring three hitters after Santos was lifted.
The Captains and Legends will paly game two of their series on Friday night at 7:05 P.M. (WELW AM 1330).
