Greenville makes a series of roster moves following all-star game

The Boston Red Sox announced the following transactions on Thursday, June 30 regarding their low-A roster in Greenville.
The Red Sox announced that catcher Jon De Vries has been promoted to high-A Wilmington, while pitcher Randy Newsom, catcher Mitch Stachowsky and infielder Jeff Natale have all been assigned to the team's short-season affiliate in Lowell.
The Bombers will add to the fold infielders Claudio Arias and Dirimio Chavez in addition to catcher Patrick Perry.
Arias began the year with Greenville, appearing in three games for the Bombers. The 23-year old collected two hits in 11 at-bats before being reassigned to extended spring training to rehab a right-shoulder injury.
Chavez appeared in 38 games for the Wilmington Blue Rocks; the 21-year old infielder batted .228 with one home run and 12 RBI in 114 at-bats.
Perry was drafted in the seventh round of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft by the Red Sox out of the University of Northern Colorado. The 22-year old catcher led all of Division I in batting (.478) and slugging percentage (.844) during his senior year and was named Division I Independent Player of the Year.
The Bombers return home for a four-game series against the Asheville Tourists (Colorado Rockies) on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. at Municipal Stadium. The Bombers "Patriotic Weekend" features Law Enforcement Appreciation Night on Thursday night in addition to back-to-back fireworks shows on Saturday and Sunday night. Due to the fireworks show on Sunday, that night's game will be played at 7:05 p.m. to accommodate the show.
