LINCOLN, NE - One night after scoring 16 runs, the Lincoln Saltdogs were shut out Tuesday night, losing 3-0 to Wichita at Haymarket Park. The Wingnuts evened the three-game series at one win apiece.

Wichita starter Leonard Landeros (6-3) turned in his best start of the season, tossing eight scoreless innings and allowing just three hits. Lincoln only had two runners on base at the same time once in the contest, and only two runners made it as far as third base. Landeros walked three and struck out five before turning the game over to former Saltdog Byron Embry, who pitched a scoreless ninth for his 18th save.

Lincoln starter Jarrett Gardner (9-5) pitched well enough to win, tossing a complete game and allowing two earned runs on just six hits. Wichita scored a run in the second inning on Stephen Pearson's RBI single, tacked on an unearned run in the sixth inning, and completed the scoring in the seventh when Michael Thompson hit a solo home run.

Curt Miaso had the only two-hit night for Lincoln, going 2-for-4 with a pair of bloop singles. Albenis Machado and Dustin Yount were the only other Saltdogs to record a base hit on the night.

The Saltdogs and Wingnuts play the finale of their three-game series Wednesday night at 7:05 at Haymarket Park. Vince Davis is scheduled to make the start for Lincoln.
