St. Paul spotted Sioux Falls a five run lead before scoring eight unanswered runs en route to a 9-7 victory over the Canaries at Skinny Water Park. Saints starter Jeff Blitstein allowed four hits in the top of the first inning which, when coupled with two St. Paul errors, produced a 5-0 deficit. But St Paul got four runs back in the bottom of the first and Blitstein settled in, throwing 5 2/3 innings total, striking out five, and permitting just one earned run. With the win he evened his mark at 1-1. Down 5-4 in the fourth inning St. Paul took a 7-5 lead when they scored three runs, the final two on DH Adam Hale's first home run with the club. Hale finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three batted in. Saints 2B Ron Fenwick also had a big night finishing 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI.

Grand Prairie 6, Pensacola 1

Grand Prairie's pitching stymied the Pensacola offense as they held the Pelicans to just three hits in a 6-1 victory. AirHogs starter Matt Righter went 5 2/3 innings, struck out five, allowed one run on two hits, and improved his record to 2-1. Grand Prairie SS David Espinosa had a good night as he went 2-for-5 and hit his eighth home run of the year. 2B Brandon Carter drove in two runs with a 2-for-4 effort and LF Mike Conroy finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Clegg Snipes pitched five innings and allowed five earned runs, dropping to 7-5 on the season.

Fort Worth 7, Shreveport 2

Fort Worth scored two runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed as they defeated Shreveport 7-2. Cats starter Dan Grybash struck out eight over six innings of work and gave up just two earned runs as he upped his mark to 6-5. Justin Phillips started for Shreveport and surrendered six earned runs as he dropped to 4-10. Occupying the leadoff and second positions in the batting order, Fort Worth SS Cameron Blair and LF Ed Montague gave the Sports fits as they each went 3-for-5 and crossed the plate a combined five times. RF John Allen was a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and DH Osiel Flores hit a two-run homer to left field in the eighth inning that put the game away.

El Paso 4, Sioux City 1

Adam Blackley turned in a brilliant pitching performance to carry El Paso past red hot Sioux City 4-1. Blackley struck out nine batters in a complete game effort and evened his record at 7-7 on the season. He allowed just five hits, two walks, and one earned run. Diablos C Mathew Kent had the game's only extra base hit as he doubled in a 2-for-4 night at the plate. RF Jorge Alvarez went 2-for-5 with an RBI and 3B Bryan Cooksey had a hit in three trips to the plate to go with two runs scored.

Wichita 3, Lincoln 0

@ Lincoln, NE. Time: 2:05 Attendance: 3,226

After a huge offensive output of 16 runs in their last game, Lincoln's offense never got on track as Wichita blanked the Saltdogs 3-0. Wingnuts starter Leonard Landeros pitched an excellent game tossing eight innings, permitting only three hits, and striking out five. With the victory he is now 6-3. Jarrett Gardner went the distance for Lincoln and with the hard luck loss, dropped to 9-5. 3B Michael Thompson hit his eighth homer of the year for Wichita and Byron Embry worked the ninth inning for his 18th save. The game was completed in a tidy two hours and five minutes.
