
El Paso takes the rubber match, 4-1

SIOUX CITY, IA -- Adam Blackley was the hero for El Paso, pitching a complete game as the Diablos took the rubber match of the 3 game series 4-1 Tuesday night at Lewis & Clark Park.
Blackley only allowed 1 run, that was in the 2nd inning,on a wild pitch which scored Alex Llanos. Blackley (7-7) gave up 5 hits, walked 2 and struck out 9.
Alexander Francisco gave up a RBI single to Roberto Mejia in the first inning, settled down after that but had to leave the game in the 6th inning when Marcel Longmire drilled a liner off his leg and Francisco had to be helped off the field.
The Diablos broke a 1-1 tie with a 2 out RBI infield single by Jorge Alvarez in the 7th inning off of reliever Matt Kretzschmar (3-1). El Paso tacked on insurance runs in the 8tth and 9th.
Walter Young was held hitless on the night, going 0-4. Sioux City, however, stayed in first place after Wichita shut out Lincoln 3-0 and the X's maintain a half game lead over the Saltdogs in the Northern Division.
The X's will have an off-day on Wednesday but will be back in action at Lewis & Clark Park on Thursday night with a doubleheader with the Wichita Wingnuts. First pitch of Game 1 is at 6:05 with tickets available by calling 277-WINS.
