BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Jan. 12, 2014) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack Sunday evening by a final scored of 6-3. Anders Lee scored his team leading 14th and 15th goals of the season, while Aaron Ness, Andrew Clark, Chris Bruton and Joey Diamond all notched goals, as well. Parker Milner earned his second career AHL win, making 25 saves in the contest.

Lee scored both of his goals in the first period within 1:32 of each other to give the Sound Tigers an early 2-0 lead. Both goals came on scrambles in front where Lee was positioned well enough to get the right bounce and put it in. His first goal was at the 8:56 mark, and at 10:28 he found the back of the net again.

Darroll Powe cut the Sound Tigers lead to one later in the period after a shot from the faceoff circle snuck past Milner. The Sound Tigers outshot the Wolf Pack 11-6 in the first period and went into the dressing room leading by a score of 2-1.

The Wolf Pack tied the game midway through the second period when, while on a two-man advantage, Aaron Johnson took a pass in the high slot and ripped it in for his fourth goal of the season. Johnson's goal briefly tied the score, but the Sound Tigers scored four unanswered goals to pull away as the game went on.

The first of those came later in the second, when Pierre-Marc Bouchard fed Chris Langkow on the right wing, Langkow took the puck behind the net and spotted Ness in left circle, who beat Wolf Pack goaltender Jason Missiaen to give the Sound Tigers the lead. In the final minute of the second, Clark made it a 4-2 game when his shot from the left circle beat Missiaen short-side and slipped in.

Scott Stajcer replaced Missiaen at the start of the third period and went on to give up a pair of goal in the final 20 minutes. The first came as Bruton drove hard to the net and found a rebound off a shot from Quine. The Sound Tigers scored their second power-play goal of the game at 8:06 of the third when Alan Quine ripped a shot from the top of the right circle. Diamond was in front creating a screen and deflected it past Stajcer to make it 6-2.

J.T. Miller added a goal late for the Wolf Pack to cut the Sound Tigers lead to 6-3, but that was plenty for the Sound Tigers to hold on for the victory. These two teams will play once again at Webster Bank Arena next Sunday at 3 p.m. Before that, however, the Sound Tigers travel to both Binghamton and Hershey for games Friday and Saturday.
