
Devils Lose To Bears In Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ - The Hershey Bears spoiled the Albany Devils bid for a perfect six-point weekend. Three goals in the second period, helped Hershey to a 4-1 victory Sunday at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall. Albany was coming off victories at Springfield Friday and against Manchester Saturday.
The loss moves the Devils 21-11-3-2, while the Bears improve to 17-13-3-3 with their fourth win in their last five outings.
Artem Demkov registered his fifth goal of the season. Keith Kinkaid and Scott Wedgewood shared responsibilities between the pipes. Kinkaid made 12 saves on 16 shots in 40 minutes of action. Wedgewood had five stops on five tries during 20 minutes of relief.
Hershey's Dustin Gazley, Jeff Taffe and Cameron Schilling each had multipoint games. Gazley and Taffe both posted a goal and an assist, while Genoway contributed a pair of helpers.
The Bears jumped out to a 2-0 advantage when Brandon Segal and Casey Wellman scored a 14:42 of the first period and 1:09 of the second frame on the power play.
Demkov pulled Albany within one at 12:06 of the second. Dan Kelly's shot deflected off the end boards and Demkov was near the right post for the put back.
Before the end of the period, Hershey added to its lead. Taffe scored on the power play at 13:56 and Gazley capped the scoring at 16:04.
Hershey's Riley Gill earned his first career victory by making 29 saves on 30 shots.
