
Late Goal Lifts Condors Over Wranglers 4-3

Bakersfield, CA - The Las Vegas Wranglers (23-7-7, 53 Points) were defeated by the Bakersfield Condors (11-20-7, 29 points) 4-3 at Rabobank Arena on Friday night. Forward Mark Derlago scored his second goal of the night with 2:06 remaining in the game, breaking a 3-3 tie and lifting Bakersfield to victory. Wranglers' defensemen Aaron Power and Jason Krischuk, as well as left wing Brandon Kaleniecki, each scored in the loss. Goalie Michel Robinson made 26 saves, improving to 3-1-1 with the Condors. Daniel Manzato stopped 23 of 27 Condors shots in the loss. Las Vegas will now head to Stockton for 7:30 pm face-off on Saturday at the Stockton Arena.
The two teams traded a pair of goals in the opening period with Las Vegas striking first. Just 19-seconds into the game, Brandon Kaleniecki snapped in his 11th goal of the season from the slot, giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead. Defenseman Jason Krischuk and right wing Adam Cracknell assisted on the first goal of the night.
Defenseman Aaron Power gave Las Vegas a 2-0 with a power-play goal five minutes later at 5:57. Power's seventh goal of the season was set up by Tyler Mosienko and Jason Jozsa. Bakersfield roared back with two goals before the end of the period. Forward Mark Derlago trimmed the Las Vegas lead to 2-1 at 7:25. Center Todd Griffith followed up with his seventh goal of the season with 3:16 remaining, knotting the score 2-2.
In the second period, Bakersfield took the lead late in the period with a power-play goal by Tim Konsorada at 18:51. Mark Derlago worked the puck to the front of the net and Konsorada gave the Condors the 3-2 with his 21st goal of the season.
In the third period, Las Vegas pulled even with Bakersfield after Jason Krischuk scored his fourth goal of the season at 10:16, tying the game 3-3. With 2:06 left in the game the Condors re-gained the lead as Mark Derlago banked the puck in off the leg of Daniel Manzato for the 4-3 win.
Las Vegas continues on a four-game road trip with two games in Stockton this weekend followed up by a game in Utah. The team then heads home on Saturday, January 26th to host Utah at 7:05 pm.
