Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release
ESTERO, FL - Justin Peters made 39 saves as the Florida Everblades shut out the Ice Pilots 2-0 in front of 4,691 at the Pensacola Civic Center.
Both teams battled for 40 minutes without mustering up a goal but the Everblades took advantage of a early third period power play as Derek Damon scored just 1:03 into the final frame to put the Everblades up 1-0. Mathieu Melanson netted his 20th goal of the year at 9:15 on a redirection to give Florida the 2-0 win. The Everblades two goals came from their two leading scorers.
Peters would do the rest as he stopped all 39 Ice Pilots shots. The crowd of 4,691 was the largest this season at the Hangar. Dan Sullivan and Brad Brown dropped the gloves just three seconds into the game.
Don't miss the hard hitting, exciting action, as the Ice Pilots' next home game is Saturday, January 26 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Gwinnett at the Civic Center. Kids 12 and under can get a free ticket with one paid adult ticket. Group Tickets, Mini Plans, and Military Packages are still available through the Ice Pilots office. For more information, or to reserve your seats, call (850) 432-PUCK, or visit the Ice Pilots web site at www.icepilots.com.
