Las Vegas' Day Named Sher-Wood ECHL Player of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Las Vegas center Greg Day is the Sher-Wood ECHL Player of the Month for October.

Day had a team-leading 10 assists and 13 points in October and helped the expansion Wranglers begin the season with a 5-1-1 record and first place in the Pacific Division. He had an assist in his first six games and was held scoreless only once. In October, Day led the ECHL with 10 assists and ranked second with 13 points and +8.

Day scored two goals and had four points while helping Las Vegas get the first win in team history, 5-3 at Idaho on October 17. He scored a goal and added two assists in a 4-2 win over Bakersfield in front of 7,208 in the Wranglers home opener on October 21. He had two assists in a 4-1 win over Idaho on October 24 and two assists in a 3-2 overtime win over San Diego on October 28.

In his first professional season in 2002-03, Day scored 27 points (12g-15a) in 31 regular season games with Peoria of the ECHL before being called up to Worcester of the American Hockey League. He scored 13 points (6g-7a) in 25 regular season games with Worcester while also playing in two postseason games for the IceCats.
