Tonight's Opponent: After opening the season 2-0-0 with wins over the Gladiators and the Pensacola Ice Pilots, the Cottonmouths have gone just 1-7-0 in their last eight games with their only win in that stretch coming in a shootout against the Columbia Inferno. The Cottonmouths come into tonight's game riding a 4 game losing streak following a 3-1 loss to Fresno on November 4th.

Head-to-Head: The Gladiators last meeting with the Columbus Cottonmouths was the team's worst outing of the young season, a 4-1 loss in Columbus. Since that game, the Gladiators have not given up more than three goals in a game. With the loss, the Gladiators drop to 3-2-0 all time against the Cottonmouths.

Cottonmouths Leaders: Peter Hogan leads the Cottonmouths in scoring with 9 points through 10 games off 2 goals and 7 assists. Ryan Risidore (+2) and Mike Legg (+1) are the only two Cottonmouths with a positive plus/ minus rating this season, although Columbus has scored 8 goals on the power play this year. Kristian Antila's 3.36 goals against average in six games is tops among Columbus netminders.

Gladiators Leaders: Brandon Dietrich leads the Gladiators in scoring with 10 points while Cam Brown's 2 power play goals lead the Gladiators. In three starts for the Gladiators, Michael Garnett has posted a 1.65 goals against average and a .933 save percentage.

On the Power Play: The Gladiators continue to improve on the power play as they added a power play goal in Friday's 4-3 shootout win against the Everblades and scored all three goals in Saturday's 3-2 win in Florida on the man advantage to improve to 12th in the ECHL, converting on 19.0 % of their power play opportunities this season.

Killing the Opportunities: The Gladiators have been perfect on the penalty kill in their last five contests. The Gladiators were a perfect 11-for- 11 over the weekend against the Everblades and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill against the Mississippi Sea Wolves on Wednesday night. The Gladiators have improved to 4th overall in the ECHL, killing off 94.3 % of their opponents power plays.

A Helping Hand: Brandon Dietrich has tallied at least one assist in each of the Gladiators last five games. He chipped in three assists in the Gladiators 5-2 win over the Mississippi Sea Wolves, had two assists in Friday's 4-3 shootout win over Florida and tallied two more in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win against the Everblades. Dietrich leads the Gladiators in assists and points with 10 through seven games this season.

Unbeaten: The Gladiators are unbeaten in their last five games and are 5-1-1 so far this season. Following a 4-1 loss to tonight's opponent, the Columbus Cottonmouths, on October 19th, the Gladiators have outscored their opponents 20-12 in their last five contests including two five goal outputs.

Shooting Gallery: The Gladiators have out shot all of their opponents, except for the Florida Everblades in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win, this season. The Gladiators are in 2rd place in the ECHL in shots on goal, out shooting their opponents 263-177 this season.
