Chicago Wolves News Release

The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned center JASON KROG, the American Hockey League's leading scorer, to the Chicago Wolves.

Last night, the 31-year-old forward notched a goal in his first National Hockey League shift since the end of the 2003-04 season in Atlanta's 3-2 overtime loss at Tampa Bay after being recalled earlier in the day.

KROG paces the AHL with 39 points, shares the league-lead with 24 assists and ranks third with 15 goals. He has registered a point in each of his 18 contests with Chicago this season, the second-longest point streak in the AHL this year behind teammate DARREN HAYDAR's 19-game run.

Prior to his recall, the Fernie, British Columbia, native recorded three assists and five points to help the Wolves to a 6-3 win against Omaha on Wednesday, the third time this season he has notched four or more points in a game. He also matched a franchise record by posting a +5 plus/minus rating in the tilt.

KROG has tallied a helper in 12 of his last 13 games, which includes a 10-game assist streak from Oct. 20 to Nov. 14, one shy of matching a team record.

KROG has earned 53 points (19G, 34A) in 176 career NHL games with the New York Islanders and Anaheim Ducks from 2000 to 2004. He posted three goals and four points in 21 postseason contests in 2003 to help Anaheim reach the Stanley Cup Finals.
