Bears square off with Manchester Saturday

Following two straight victories Wednesday and Thursday nights, the BEARS return home to begin a three-game homestand Saturday night against the Manchester Monarchs. Tonight's game is the first in the two-game season series between the two teams, and the only time the Monarchs will play along HERSHEYPARK Drive in 2006-07.

The BEARS enter play Saturday night with a 12-2-1-2 record after a 5-3 win over the Binghamton Senators Thansgiving night in Broome County, NY. HERSHEY is in third place in the East Division with 27 points, trailing both Norfolk and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The Admirals and Penguins each have 29 points. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defeated Norfolk 4-2 Friday night at Wachovia Arena.

Manchester, under first-year head coach Mark Morris, have posted an 8-6-4-1 record through 19 games this season. The Monarchs are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division standings. Former BEARS and Flyers goaltender Ron Hextall is Manchester's general manager.
