Kris Bryant Expected to Play at Werner Park Monday

2016 National League Most Valuable Player and two-time All-Star third baseman Kris Bryant is expected to begin a Major League Rehab Assignment at Werner Park with the Iowa Cubs on Monday, August 27. That contest is the final regular season matchup scheduled between Omaha and Iowa this season. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT.

In 533 Major League contests, Bryant has compiled a .286 average (576-2015), adding 365 runs, 125 doubles, 15 triples, 105 homers and 318 RBI since making his debut with the Cubs on April 17, 2015. He was tabbed the National League's Most Valuable Player following the 2016 regular season, and helped lead the Cubs to their first World Series championship in 108 years. In 76 contests in 2018, the 26-year-old has tallied a .276 mark (84-304) with 46 runs, 21 doubles, three triples, 11 homers and 44 RBI.

Bryant previously played in eight games at Werner Park as a member of the I-Cubs in 2014, posting a .321 average (9-28) with seven runs, two doubles, one homer and three RBI. His last game in Omaha came on August 5, 2014.
