Fort Wayne, IN -- The Komets start a busy December stretch of a dozen games in 23 nights tonight when they skate at Bloomington at 8:05pm ET. After tonight the Komets return home to host the Evansville IceMen Saturday night at 7:30 and then welcome the Dayton Gems Sunday for a 5pm matinee on Coliseum Ice. After this weekend, the Komets will skate nine more games over a span of 19 days before celebrating the New Year.
Tonight at Bloomington-- The Komets make their first of five visits to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Illinois this season and the second meeting of the year with the Blaze after the Komets' 3-1 Thanksgiving home win earlier. Bloomington (3-12-2, 8 points) has been idle this week and are coming off two road losses from last weekend but have won their last two home games.
IceMen visit Saturday; Komets kickoff Operation Komet Kare Package-- The Komets return for their first home game since Thanksgiving when Evansville visits for a 7:30pm faceoff Saturday. Saturday's match may be a battle for first place in the Turner Conference as first-place Evansville (11-4-1, 23 points) edges the Komets by only a point entering the weekend. The IceMen will host Dayton tonight before traveling to Fort Wayne Saturday. WE NEED YOU for Operation Komet Kare Package-- Komet fans can support our troops by bringing donations such as books, magazines, DVD's, snacks, T-Shirts, soap, socks and other gift items to the next three Komet home games beginning tomorrow night when the Komets host Evansville. Operation Komet Kare Package continues Sunday when Dayton visits at 5pm and again Saturday, Dec. 17 when Evansville returns. Komets welcome Gems Sunday-- The Komets will host their second of five Sunday matinees when Dayton visits Sunday at 5pm. Dayton (8-6-4, 20 points) holds third place in the Turner Conference, trailing the Komets by two points and first-place Evansville by three. Dayton skates at Evansville tonight and hosts Quad City Saturday before making the trip to Fort Wayne Sunday. Sunday is Season Ticket Exchange night-- The Komets will feature the first Season Ticket Exchange night of the year this Sunday when Dayton visits at 5pm. Fans can exchange unused tickets from previous 2011-12 home games for tickets to this Sunday's game at the Coliseum Ticket Office. Bring your skates Sunday-- The Komets once again will feature the Wendy's Free Family Skate following Sunday home games this year. Fans will have a chance to skate with the Komets immediately following Sunday's game against the Dayton Gems.

INC Soundoff with the Komets Monday nights -- The Komets, along with I ndiana's News Center and title sponsor PHP, present a live weekly televised sports program on Monday nights at 7:30 on WPTA TV 21 Alive. The show is televised live from Wrigley Field Bar and Grill each week throughout the 2011-12 season with INC's Tommy Schoegler as host. Komet players and personnel will serve as co-hosts during the half-hour program. The show will also feature highlights, interviews, call-ins and special segments. Monday, Dec. 12, Komet legends Eddie Long and George Drysdale will be special guests.
60th Anniversary Komet Hockey on WOWO -- The Komets and WOWO Radio News-Talk 1190 AM have partnered once again for 2011-12. Broadcaster Bob Chase will call the action for his 59th consecutive season radio-rinkside. All games broadcast on radio, home and away, can be heard online at Xfinity KometCast. Most games will be broadcast on WOWO Radio News-Talk 1190 AM with ESPN Radio AM 1380 as an alternative when scheduling conflicts occur.
